Purpose of this notice
Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the laws of the State of Massachusetts, generally prohibit us from sharing nonpublic personal information about you, or your company, with a third party unless we provide you with this notice of our privacy policies and practices describing the type of information that we collect about you and the categories of persons or entities to whom that information may be disclosed. In compliance with the GLBA and the laws of this State, we are providing with this document, which notifies you of the privacy policies and practices of PETS! Publication.
PETS! Publication Privacy Policy
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about individuals to any non-affiliate or non-affiliated third party other than those permitted by law and then only for the purpose of transacting PETS! business.
Customer information
We may collect and keep only information that is necessary for us to provide services requested by you and to administer your business with us.
Sharing information
We only share your nonpublic personal information with non-affiliated companies or individuals as permitted by law, such as third party administrators and consumer reporting agencies, or to comply with legal or regulatory requirements. In the normal course of business, we may disclose information we collect about you to companies or individuals that contract with us to perform servicing functions.
Joint marketing of our products and services
When we provide personal information to a service provider, we require these providers to agree to safeguard your information, to use the information only for the intended purpose, and to abide by applicable law.
Employee access to information
Only employees with a valid reason will have access to your personal information. These employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality and security of this information. They are required to abide by our information-handling practices.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information that we record about you. Your right includes the right to know the source of the information and the identity of the persons, institutions or the types of institutions to whom we have disclosed such information within 2 years prior to your request. Your right includes the right to view such information and copy it in person, or request that a copy of it be sent to you by mail (for which we may charge a reasonable fee to cover our costs). Your also have the right to request corrections, amendments or deletions of any information in our possession. This request should include your name, address, telephone number and your specific request whether it be corrections, amendments or to view information.
Protection of information
We maintain security standards to protect confidential information, whether written, spoken, or electronic. We update and test our systems to ensure the protection and integrity of our information.
Dispute resolution
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to our privacy policy, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
Reservation of the right to disclose information in unforeseen circumstances
In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interests, PETS! Publication and its affiliates reserve the right to sell or transfer your information (including but not limited to your address, name, age, sex, zip code, state and country of residence and other information that you provide through other communications) to a third party entity that concentrates its business in a similar practice or service; agrees to be PETS! Publication's successor in interest with the regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collected; and agrees to the obligations of this privacy statement.
